For over 30 years, evolving with the neighbourhood while staying true to our roots.

Our neighbourhood is known and loved as a shopping destination that caters to just about every passion and every pocket. If you’re looking for it, chances are you’ll find it in, or between, one of our many shopping centres. That’s because we’re intentional about the way we curate our retail offering here at the V&A Waterfront, making sure to position brands where they can flourish and where the right audiences can find them. We also balance luxury and aspirational labels with more accessible brands, serving both local and global shoppers.
This creates a thriving environment for retailers to succeed at every stage of their journey. Added to this is the fact that our neighbourhood is more than a retail destination. Here, you can shop but you can also play, feast, explore and discover. Our markets, attractions, kids’ play areas and free events are a constant visitor drawcard, making the V&A Waterfront a vibrant stage for retailers to tell their stories. It’s no wonder that many of our tenants put down deep roots, with some sticking around for over 30 years.
In the words of Rejeanne Vlietman, General Manager of Den Anker Restaurant: “When we first opened in 1994, we were tucked away over the water from a fish factory, a very different picture from today’s bustling precinct. Over time, the V&A expanded, and we were able to grow our operation to meet the changing needs of visitors and locals alike. To have witnessed the rise of the Marina, the Aquarium, the Clocktower District, and so much more has been both exciting and inspiring.”
Through it all, we’ve remained committed to sourcing ethically, supporting small-scale producers, and staying true to our Belgian roots. Being part of the diverse tenant mix at the V&A means we can thrive in a place that is accessible to everyone, locals and visitors from around the world. This vibrancy fuels us and creates an environment where our team feels at home. Looking ahead, my hope is to keep enhancing our offering, grow our team through education and opportunity, and enjoy being part of the Waterfront’s next colourful chapter.

In the words of Ameeda Naidoo: “As a family-run business, history plays a huge role in everything we do. Being one of the first florists at the Waterfront, we have seen the mall evolve and grow over the years, moving locations a few times and building relationships with clients and neighbours along the way. The Waterfront is a powerful brand, and being part of it inspires us to offer better service and products that align with trends from around the world. We’ve also embraced initiatives like sustainability, separating our waste to reduce overall impact, and we’ve watched the neighbourhood evolve with exciting additions like the big wheel and new facilities, all of which make this such a unique and vibrant place to be.”

“We’ve grown alongside the Waterfront, finding joy in every connection, every arrangement and every new opportunity to flourish”

“The diversity and spirit of the Waterfront make the NEIGHBOURHOOD experience truly special, recognising the “little guy” and giving small businesses a platform to shine. Our hope is to continue growing alongside the brand, sharing in its innovation while showcasing how far we’ve come in the flower industry. Being a five-generation family business, it means so much to work in a space that values our legacy and supports our evolution. We are proud to contribute to the richness of the Waterfront and grateful to be part of a community that celebrates both history and progress,” says Ameeda Naidoo.
